AWS Infrastructure & Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux + SQL Server DBA)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile AWS Infrastructure & Systems Administrator withstrongexpertise in MS SQL Server DBA, Windows and Linux administration, and working knowledgeofRedis and IIS web server environments. This role is responsible for ensuring thereliability,performance, and scalability of cloud infrastructure and systems in a multi-platformenvironment.

Key Responsibilities

AWS Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure components (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.).
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Manage AWS security, including IAM roles, policies, encryption, and key management.
  • Handle backup, snapshot, and disaster recovery planning across cloud resources.
  • Monitor resource utilization and performance using CloudWatch.

Windows and Linux Administration:

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems (updates, patching, hardening).
  • Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot OS-level issues, file system problems, and security events.
  • Maintain user access controls and system-level scripting for automation.

MS SQL Server DBA Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CPU, memory, and disk I/O utilization to ensure healthy database performance.
  • Track database size, growth trends, and manage space utilization.
  • Identify and tune slow-performing queries and optimize execution plans.
  • Monitor blocking and deadlocks; implement corrective strategies.
  • Maintain TempDB configuration, monitor utilization, and resolve contention issues.
  • Schedule and monitor regular backups, validate through periodic test restores.
  • Set up SQL Server alerts and analyze error logs for proactive issue resolution.

Redis Administration:

  • Monitor Redis memory and CPU usage, and set appropriate memory limits.
  • Track command latency, optimize slow queries, and fine-tune configurations.
  • Manage network traffic and optimize data handling.
  • Plan for scalability with Redis clustering or sharding if required.

IIS (Internet Information Services) Administration:

  • Monitor CPU and memory usage of IIS worker processes and application pools.
  • Track request throughput, network traffic, and detect abnormal patterns.
  • Optimize configuration for performance and security.
  • Analyze logs to identify bottlenecks or malicious activity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud service management.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu) administration.
  • Experience with Redis and IIS in a production environment.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, SQL Profiler, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and load balancers.

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (optional)
  • RHCSA or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration Fundamentals
